This policy explains how Manara Center collects, uses, and safeguards the personal information you share with us, whether through a registration, a cultural activity, or a conversation with our team. Manara Center is a Québec non-profit organization rooted in Brossard, serving families across the South Shore. The trust that families place in us is a guiding principle: we are committed to handling your information with care, transparency, and respect at every step along the way.

1. Identification and contact

2. Information we collect

We may collect the following:

  • Registration information: parent's or participant's full name, email, phone number, address, date of birth or age group, program selected.
  • Information about minors: when a registration is for a child, we collect the child's name and age group along with the legal parent or guardian's contact details.
  • Payment information: processed exclusively by our forms provider JotForm; we do not retain credit-card numbers on our servers.
  • Technical data: IP address, device type, pages visited, time on page — only if you consent via the cookie banner.

3. Purposes

Your information is used to:

  1. Process your program registration and confirm your spot.
  2. Send you confirmations, schedules, and changes related to your registration.
  3. Measure site usage (analytics) and improve content — only if you consent.
  4. Meet our legal and tax obligations as a Quebec non-profit organization.

We never sell your information and we do not send marketing communications to minors.

4. Third-party processors

  • JotForm (registration forms and payments) — primary processor. Policy: https://www.jotform.com/privacy/
  • Google Analytics 4 (audience analytics) — only if you consent to the "analytics" cookie category. IP is anonymized.
  • Google Calendar (read-only access to public programming) — no personal data is transmitted.
  • Resend (transactional emails) — for registration confirmations where applicable.

5. Children's data (Law 25)

Minor registrations occur exclusively through a legal parent or guardian. No minor may register alone. We do not build marketing profiles of minors and we apply a shorter retention period (2 years after session end) to their data.

6. Retention and destruction

  • Adult registration data: retained for the active session plus 7 years (accounting and tax obligations).
  • Minor registration data: retained for the active session plus 2 years.
  • Technical (analytics) data: 14 months maximum, anonymized.

At the end of these periods, data is securely destroyed.

7. Your rights

Under Quebec's Law 25, you have the right to:

  • access information we hold about you;
  • request correction;
  • request deletion subject to our legal obligations;
  • withdraw consent to optional cookies at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer;
  • file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
